Efficient Travel
Author: BorntoRide
With the high gasoline prices today, many people are looking for more efficient ways to travel, especially over short distances. Here are a few methods of efficient travel that are quick and won’t break the bank.
~Bicycle, the classic pedal machine, for short trips to the grocery or corner store it doesn’t waste gas, doesn’t pollute, and is also part of a healthy lifestyle.
~Electric scooters, for longer distances, mopeds are not a bad way to get around. With a helmet they’re safe for kids and teens and can allow them to visit friends or nearby locations without parental transportation.
~Scooters and motorcycles, these are for adults and can be a more permanent solution for gasoline efficient travel. The typical motorcycle or scooter can get upwards of 60 Miles Per Gallon (MPGs). These are great for getting to work or even traveling longer distances, as long as you don’t need to accommodate other passengers.
Kids Electric Scooters Are Great Fun!
Author: TG51
Most kids love scooters. Most kids also love riding self-propelled vehicles like minibikes, motorbikes, go karts and atvs. So what could be more fun than riding a scooter with an electric motor? This is what kids electric scooters are, and kids absolutely love them! Adults love riding electric scooters, too, but that’s for another time to discuss.
Kids electric scooters from such manufacturers as Razor and X-Treme Scooters are very affordable, inexpensive to operate, quiet and clean for the environment. The electric motor uses absolutely no gasoline. You simply plug the smart charger in to any household wall outlet to “refill the tank” (charge the batteries), and off you go! Electric scooters come in many sizes and styles, from the “scooter with handlebars” style (see image), to 3-wheeled, tricycle style electric scooters, all the way up to those that look like small motorbikes.
Do you kid a favor and check out these kids electric scooters today. You’ll be amazed at the selection. You might just want one for yourself, too!
Safety gear is a MUST when using an electric scooter.
Author: GreenRider
Motorized scooters are steadily increasing in popularity. Although there are 3-wheeled motorized scooters available, most are generally have two wheels, similar to manual, foot-powered scooters, but equipped with either a small 2-cycle gasoline engine or an electric motor and a battery. Some of the larger ones even come with seats, lights and turn signals. The gasoline-powered scooters usually cost between $400 and $2.000. The electric scooters range from under $200 to about $1,500. Additionally, electric scooters are much quieter, cleaner and more energy efficient.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that riders wear the same safety gear as recommend for non-powered scooters. These include a helmet, and knee and elbow pads. Sturdy shoes, gloves and reflective gear also are very important. Electric scooters should also not be ridden at night, unless equipped with proper lighting. Even then, extreme care should be exercised. CPSC Chairman Ann Brown has been quoted as saying, “Common sense requires that riders of all ages understand the importance of protective gear and observing local safety rules. Have fun outside but don’t end up in the emergency room.”
Protective gear, including a bicycle helmet and knee and elbow pads, can be purchased for as little as $35 - $50. Most would agree that this is a very small price to pay for yours, or a loved one’s, safety. Also, motorized scooter riders should also be sure to check with their state and local authorities to be sure they are following all laws and regulations.
What does “Unlimited MPG” really mean?
Author: GreenRider
Unlimited MPG simply refers to the fact that the use of electric vehicles, such as electric scooters, electric bikes, electric mopeds and similar means of transportation and recreation, allow us to never worry about how many miles per gallon we are getting. No matter how high the price of gas and oil jumps, it won’t affect your ability to afford to travel to the grocery store, work or school. What could be better?
Another great side effect of this is that you won’t be polluting the air, causing noise or supporting oil producing countries who really don’t like us and would love to see us fall! Remember, people. The cure for these problems starts with each of us doing our part.
Why I think using electric scooters and bikes is patriotic!
Author: GreenRider
According to many experts, we are currently sending as much as $700 BILLION per year to countries that would love to see us dead! It has been called the largest transfer of wealth in the history of the world. Not only is that shameful and stupid, but its just plain treasonous! Before long, our nation will be owned and mortgaged out to our enemies. But I guess that will be our kids’ problem, right?
WRONG! It’s our problem.
How do we fix this before it’s too late? Simple. We do EVERYTHING in our power to find and develop new sources of energy (of all types), while using the ones we already have much more efficiently. It will take years, maybe even decades, before we are producing most of our own energy, so we need to find ways to conserve what we have without disrupting our way of life too much.
Enter electric scooters, electric bikes and bicycles, electric mopeds, and other electric vehicles. They are great for shorter trips, like commuting to and from work or school, going on simple jaunts to the grocery store, and other limited trips. They use ABSOLUTELY ZERO gallons of gas, ABSOLUTELY ZERO barrels of oil, and don’t pollute our air with dirty exhaust. They’re clean, quiet, energy efficient, cheap to run and above all, PATRIOTIC!
Electric scooters are not just toys anymore!
Author: GreenRider
We’ve all seen the push scooters that look like skateboards with handles. But many people don’t realize that today’s electric scooters present a wide variety of styles, shapes, sizes and options.
Yes, there are electric scooters that look like the skateboard with handles mentioned earlier (with the addition of a quiet, pollution free, energy efficient electric motor), but these are not just toys anymore! There are other electric scooters that add a seat, headlights, tail lights and cargo boxes and racks. Some look like small mopeds, some look like stand up or sit down tricycles, and some are large mobility aids for the elderly and less active.
These new electric scooters are great for trips to the store, commuting to and from work or school, getting around campus or just tooling around the neighborhood.
Do yourselves a big favor and look in to these hot little dynamos today.
Electric scooters come in all shapes and sizes
Author: GreenRider
As shown in the image, above, today’s electric scooters come in many shapes, sizes and styles. They are not just toys anymore. They range from the smaller, toy-like scooters like the one featured in the “Back To The Future” movies, to much larger scooters that look somewhat like small motorcycles. The smaller styles are foldable for easy transport and storage.
Electric scooters come in both “stand up” and “sit down” styles. Many of the models have removable seats so they can be easily converted back and forth between the two styles. Some have 2 wheels, while others, like the Zappy 3 models from Zap, have 3 wheels.
The one thing they all have in common is an energy efficient, clean running, quiet, oil and gas free, battery operated electric motor to help get you around. They also all have a motorcycle style twist throttle on the handlebars and a braking system.
As you can see, with all the variations available, there is an electric scooter out there to fit just about every taste. My personal favorite is the beautiful, sporty X-360 from X-Treme Scooters, followed very closely by the powerful little workhorse Zappy 3 Pro from Zap.
Electric Scooters
Author: GreenRider
I am pumped about these electric scooters! These things are beautiful, sporty, ecomomical to use and pollution free. With gas prices out of control, what could be better? They just can’t be beat for short trips around town. Why not save the gas in my car for longer trips?
Some people might disagree with me, but I even think its kind of patriotic to use one of these. I just can’t see sending our money to countries who hate us by buying any more of their gas and oil than we absolutely have to! Anything we can do to lower our dependence on these idiots is good for America.
Introducing the X-Treme XB-420M Electric Mobility Scooter.
Author: GreenRider
The XB-420M Deluxe Electric Bike/ Mobility Electric Scooter from X-Treme Scooters is, according to the manufacturer, the fastest mobility scooter in the world. It was designed for the not-so-old-at-heart drivers who don’t want to feel like they’re driving in an “old person’s disability chair”. It comes in two sporty colors (black or blue), and has an all-in-1 rear end differential and an electric motor just like those found in the much higher priced mobility scooters. It also comes with a reverse gear, arm rests, a cargo rack and plenty of extra storage space under the seat, so it is perfect for that trip to the store or across the neighborhood.
This baby is classified as a power chair or mobility scooter, even though it is capable of speeds of up to 15 mph. You really don’t have to be old or disabled to have a blast driving the XB-420M. But don’t worry, it also comes with a speed control knob to reduce the maximum speed to as low as 2 mph for those more feint at heart drivers.
With the rising cost of gas and oil these days, this electric bike / mobility scooter is a great alternative for someone looking for an economical, quiet, pollution-free way to travel without the noise, expense and smell of a gas powered car or motorcycle. You should really go check this model out. You’ll be glad you did!
